The Giants defeated the Texas Rangers at Oracle Park Monday night by a final score of 3-1.
The pitching was amazing. Alex Wood went seven strong innings with seven strikeouts, allowing just one run on four hits and three walks. Tyler Rogers had a scoreless 8th inning, dropping his ERA to 0.87 on the year. McGree came in a collected his 9th save of the year with one strikeout.
Offensively, the unit was solid. Brandon Belt hit a solo shot in the 4th inning. Dubon came in to pinch hit for Mike Tauchman and delivered a single to left field that would score the go-ahead run. The Giants also scored an insurance run on a throwing error by 3B Charlie Culberson later in the inning.
