KXSF Sports: Giants vs New York Mets (8/18)

Sam Pasco

The Giants are going for the sweep! San Francisco has a chance to wrap up the nine-game homestand with an 8-1 record if they can beat Tylor Megill and the Mets today. Anthony DeScalfani gets the ball for his 24th start of the season. He will be making his 6th career start against the Mets – he’s 0-3 with a 5.65 ERA in those matchups.

DOUBLE DIGITS

  • Evan Longoria became the 9th different Giant this season to hit at least 10 home runs.
  • Austin Slater is at nine right now and if he reaches 10, it would be the first time a Giants team EVER has had 10 players with 10+ HRs.

SHEESH

  • The Giants are 21-10 since the all-star break.

LOOKING AHEAD

  • The Giants will have an off-day tomorrow and then stay in the Bay for a three-game series against the A’s in Oakland. They then make their final trip to the Eastern Time Zone with sets against the Mets and Braves.
